Access Policy / Directions

The Centro Library and Archives is located inside Hunter College Library (3rd floor East building) and is open to the general public. Users wishing to enter the Centro Library and Archives must announce to security posted at the entrance that they are visiting the “Centro Library.” All users must have some form of picture identification when visiting the library.

Visitors will then be required to submit their picture identification to security and sign a guest register before entering the Library and Archives.
The picture identification will be returned upon exiting the library and a guest pass will be provided for entrance. CUNY staff and students should use their CUNY identification when visiting our collection.

In case security does not allow access to the library, please request that they contact us at our general reference number at (212) 772-4197 or request that they have someone from the Circulation Desk at Hunter College Library call us. Public phones are also available near the security desk to contact us.

The Library and Archives is housed on the third floor (inside) of the Jacqueline Grennan Wexler Library in the East Building of Hunter College located on the southeast corner of 68 St. and Lexington Ave. Please read Library and Archives access policy.

Subway: #6 (Lex. Ave. line) to 68th Street, F train to 63rd street and Lexington Ave.

Bus: Crosstown bus M66, Downtown bus (Lex. Ave.) M98, M101, 102, 103.
